I think I have talked about this before but I am a big fan of TIVO or DVRs. I have a DVR and I think it is the same as TIVO but I am not 100% on that. But I really like the DVR because I think I decide to watch TV only when I want to watch and I am able to watch whatever I want or whatever I have recorded whenever I want and not just whenever a program is on. I don't like watching TV just because I have nothing else to do even though nothing is on. It has really focused me on what I deem as good programs. Not good as in good for society or good for me spiritually but good as in entertaining and things I like to watch. These are the shows I "TIVO":
The Office
Scrubs
CSI (Las Vegas version only)
Arrested Development (although now cancelled)
Jay Leno
60 Minutes
AFV (If you don't know what AFV is then I am glad, if you do then you must watch it too so you are a loser too)
King of Queens
The Amazing Race
I wish I had TIVO because TIVO can be a noun or a verb like, "did you TIVO that show last night?". It is harder to say "did you DVR that show last night?". "Yeah, I DVRed the crap out of it." That does not work as well. It reminds me of the time I was in Vegas at one of my classes, maybe 2 years ago. I have only had a DVR for less than a year now and I remember hearing about TIVO and the like for the last 5 years or so at least. I was in a class and classmates and I were talking about the show Scrubs that I like a lot. So out of my mouth came the words, "I TIVO Scrubs every week". Well, what I really did was record it using a VHS tape every week. I mean, in my defense I was using state of the art VHS equipment. I could set it to record at the same time every week and I did not have to manually start it each time. But I was still using VHS tapes and a VCR and I was embarrassed about that. Really, I did not think to myself, "self, VHS tapes suck and are for poor people, don't let them know that you still use a VCR". It just came out, I never thought it through, I just said it without thinking, but I knew why.
It is the same as my "IPOD". My father in law gave me his MP3 player after he got an IPOD. I love my MP3 player, it can hold like 80 songs, that is like 7 hours of music. It works great and is small and I absolutley do not want anything else. I don't need more than 7 hours of music at one time. I love it also because it was the absolutely right price in free which everyone knows is my favorite price to pay. But even so, I was running with this guy and this girl not too long ago and the girl asked what I had on the IPOD and I told her Weezer's new one and Eminem (we'll talk about that later) and of course I did not want to go in to how it is not really an IPOD. I also, though, had to hide it the rest of the run so all she could see was white headphone cords coming out of my pocket. Hey, if she wants to assume, that's her problem. I am just glad she did not ask me if it was a Video or Nano.

It sounds like you have an ipod complex.
i am the ultimate loser. i like afv. i don't have an ipod. i don't even have cable tv. my cell phone is usually dead and i don't know my own number. we just bought an antenea but it still doesn't get us channel 4 or 5. i was thinking we would sign up for netflix because you can get the office and scrubs on dvd (we do have a dvd player). is netflix cool?
Katie, you are so 2001. I am at least 2003ish. I had Netflix but I found I did not watch things in a timely manner but Josh loves netflix. Be careful though, netflix is a pretty modern convenience. Don't let your head explode when the television images arrive in your mailbox each week. Easy there Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer.
