"...by the time I get my books and I give myself a look....."

This weekend I did lots of relaxing. There was the great BYU victory and of course Thanksgiving day, but I did very little else. I have not exercised or run since the marathon which is sad but typical. But one day, I think it was Friday, there was a Saved By the Bell marathon on TV all morning. Me and my oldest daughter just sat for a few hours and watched Zack, Kelly, Lisa, Screech, AC, and Jessie Spano living their lives and having their teenage struggles. I love that show but probably for all the wrong reasons as most anyone does. It is cheesy and bad and funny in that way. But it is funny how I found myself talking to my daughter about things that the SBTB kids were talking about. Cheating, stealing, drugs (yes the one where Jessie is hooked on Caffeine Pills), parties without parental supervision, and many other topics. People, this is weird, but SBTB was kind of educational. My kids watch a lot of Disney Channel when they watch TV but there are a few things that I enjoy watching with them. Here are the shows that I like to watch with the kidos:

Cosby Show
Brady Bunch
SBTB
Little House on the Prairie

What do these shows have in common? They were all created and ran before 1990 for one thing. And they are completly wholesome and funny and cool. They may be cheesy and I may be enjoying these shows for other reasons than my kids are but I know when I watch the Cosby show that I am going to laugh and no one is going to swear or talk about sex or something. We have tried The Amazing Race with our family too which we enjoy but they swear and things that I don't want the kids to see.

So make fun if you will. If my kids were not around I probably would not watch ma and pa Ingalls so thank heavens I have kids to save me from myself.

Stupid Green

It was very important this morning that I changed the ole Blog Wallpaper. I got so mad at that color of green last night in bed I had to change first thing this morning. Green had a good run. Hope you like the new layout.

Pandora

I am sure most people have heard of this website before, at least, but I am so in love with it that I have to post about it. This may be the 2nd time I have mentioned it here but if I can convert one person to my way of thinking this whole post will be worth it. The site is called Pandora:

It is so awesome. You make your own radio stations by putting in bands that you like and it spits out songs by those bands and also other similar bands. One of my stations is:

Neil Young
Wilco
Nanci Griffith

Another one I like is:

Love and Rockets
The Church
New Order

I have a few other stations but the one I listen to most is:

Ben Folds Five
Trash Can Sinatras
The Smiths

and I get other bands I love like New Order, XTC, and others on that station. Right now a song called "Medication" is playing from a band called "For Against". I have never heard the song or the band but it is awesome. If you sit at a computer all day like I do, get to love Pandora. You'll be glad you did.
