One thing she did not mention is that I saw Lance Armstrong pass me about mile 16.
It was rad for a couple of reasons. First he has all these dudes around him. When I first saw him I thought this was his posse but upon further investigation I think he is all alone and these dudes are just trying to run and keep up with Lance Armstrong.
Second he is way buffer than I expected. I thought he would be super skinny but homeboy has some muscles (pronounced muss-kells). Enjoy that photo ladies.
And thirdly I snapped his picture and then yelled "Lance" out of force of habit and the guy turned and looked at me with a nice smile. A lot of people had their names on their shirts and he was not one of them. I must have cheered for 300 people by name and I think Lance Armstrong was the only one to look at me and make eye contact. It is not that the others were not grateful, they were just busy running a marathon. Thanks Lance for the love.
The marathon was super fun as a spectator. I did not feel like running it at all but at the same time got excited about starting to run again. We got to hang out with Josh and Erin and family which was so fun. They are moving here by the way. That is super cool.
But one of the highlights of the whole trip was cheering for Daisy with Josh. Let's just say "cheering" is not Josh's strong suit. At least not without the sarcasm. But marathon runners are surprisingly oblivious to sarcasm so it worked out well. Josh yelled funny sarcastic comments about their names or their outfits or their t-shirts and they felt like someone was cheering for them legitimately and I laughed and had a really fun time.
On a completely unrelated note, the picture below is us eating the best lobster I have ever had of the three lobsters I have eaten in my life. I don't know if you can tell but I ordered the Lobster Feast at Legal Seafood. After a bowl of great Clam Chowder it is like 15 Mussels, 15 Clams, and that huge lobster. Super tasty but too much food. Even my fatness could not pound all that food.
